Design task was a simple change in overall last pitch. The original ref shoe was higher heel pitch, this was resolved by adjusting to the desired pitch, and then making an adjustment the the toe spring of the final last. Adjustment made at anatomical ball point all other significant markers uneffected.

Design task adjust the pitch of the last from 50 to 40mm, keep same toe spring, add slight volume to the heel width at base.

The reference last was a bit long and had a wider achilles area with heel slip. It seems like a possible take down from a mens sneaker. Overall a big or loose feeling shoe for w’s7, last length was off at 268mm, reduced to 260 and heel narrowed for better fit. Ball girth adjusted via reduction in topline profile & narrowing via toe/waist.
Original last is RED
Modified last is BLACK/GRAY (in 3D)
Design task is a back curve adjustment to tweek a shaft opening for pull on boot, 0,+2.5, +5.0 The thermal counter will be doing some work!
Area of focus is top of the heel curve and above the widest part of heel back width.
Ref. last had a flat feel underfoot, toe spring was equivalent to heel height, abnormal feeling. Toe spring was lowered 5mm, and cone was adjusted for easier entry. This is handsewn moc last so slip on and venetian patterns would need more volume to make entry easier.
Old last is RED lines/volume
New last is GREEN lines/volume
Goal is to add some volume to the area over the large toe at actual toe area without effecting artistic part of the toe
Envelope distortion tool is applied, measurement is apx based on functional length for size. Last is womens 0.5mm added with 0.5 >0.0mm smoothing applied over apx 15x15mm area, rectified last will have much larger effected area spreading outward gradually to not create an obvious change (black vs yellow in diagram below at left).
Revised height at the area is ~37.2mm vs previous 36.4mm.
Sometimes when using firmer/thicker (45c/5mm) footbeds this space can be a problem if toe spring is off and fit has a toe that points upward.
